Our Story

2019
Ariane Thread
Initial Idea

In late 2019, Martin was tired of his many spreadsheets and started to develop his own code. He lined up simple calculations “from source to trap”, with burial and thermal history, source rock properties and maturity, expulsion masses and migration losses until PVT-controlled trap charge. Then came trap pore volume and seal properties, enabling phase and column height prediction. The concept of the “Ariane Thread” was born, creating the backbone of a prospect evaluation tool, equipped  with basic uncertainties and a Monte Carlo simulator.

2020
Dancing Distributions
Joining Forces

When various friends and colleagues from the E&P industry showed interest in the Ariane prototype, Martin began to work on turning the idea into a product. At this time his path crossed with Ben’s, who saw the potential immediately. Martin and Ben teamed up to create Ariane, a decision they have never regretted.  Early on, Ben created the foundations for a cloud-based platform. At the same time, the concept of Dancing Distribution was developed with Arnold Neumaier (Martin’s father), together with essential input by our first advisor Jan de Jager.

2021
The Wisdom of Fools?!
Founding of ArianeLogiX

The arrival of Ian Bryant sharpened the strategic vision and things started to get serious. ArianeLogix was founded on April 1st  2021 – very much NOT an April Fool’s Trick! 2021 also saw the first commercial release of Ariane for Oil & Gas, presented by Martin at various conferences: AAPG in Denver, Geological Society of London, NPF Oslo, and EAGE in Amsterdam (finally in person!). Andrew Murray also joined as an advisor, providing valuable feedback on everything related to PVT and fluids, one of the domain cores of Ariane.

2022
Stepping out of the Comfort Zone
Entering the Carbon Storage Arena

With carbon storage becoming a vital part of the energy transition, and in the absence of an effective prospect assessment tool, Martin and Ben decided to invest time into making Ariane fit for CCS screening workflows. Andreas Busch joined the team to strengthen understanding in this new branch of the E&P industry. The very first version of Ariane for Carbon Storage was presented by Martin at the Digital EAGE in Vienna and the following week at the AAPG CCUS conference in Houston. The development team was further strengthened with the advent of Eva as head of quality assurance.

2023
Further Diversification
First Big Clients

ArianeLogiX’s first big client was a US-based E&P company seeking to establish a corporate-wide database for their international CCS prospect portfolio. This industry collaboration provided funding for more development, as well as a full set of functional requirements and cybersecurity requests. Concurrently, a nascent interest in Natural Hydrogen, again lacking appropriate exploration software, was the trigger for the first version of Ariane for Natural Hydrogen. This new module which further increases the number of successful use cases has been presented by Martin at the Annual EAGE conference in Vienna.

2024
Entering the Mainstream
Out of the Niche

In 2024, Ben created the groundwork for Ariane to shift from a single user, single segment niche product to a corporate-scale platform, with user management and team collaboration, prospect aggregation, further data integration and a variety of uncertainty distributions. This common foundation serves all three Ariane domains - Oil & Gas, Carbon Storage and Natural Hydrogen – and any future extension. This new development allows users to work efficiently on the same data from different part of the world, in a secure environment. After having worked with ArianeLogiX on the client side for several years, Lukasz Krawczynski joined the ArianeLogiX advisory team.

2025
Growing the Team
New Horizons

The year began with the arrival of Christian and Pierre to reinforce the core team and accelerate the development of Ariane and further diversify the Ariane functionalities. 2025 will be busy with presentations on all continents, with highlights of the year which are the EAGE in Toulouse, Geological Society Natural Hydrogen conference in London, AAPG IMAGE in Houston, AAPG ICE in Rio. More and more clients are moving towards the Ariane Platform for effective prospect assessments! Ulrich and Chris also joined as advisors, bringing tremendous experience in energy portfolio management.

And Beyond…..
A Bright Future
Aims and Aspirations

As an indispensable partner to companies at the forefront of the Energy Transition, ArianeLogiX is committed to supporting E&P companies in effectively managing their assets of diverse commodities. As the demand for energy grows, so will Ariane, building and expanding their capabilities to support explorers and producers of energy and natural resources. Ariane, the preferred E&P Prospect Assessment Platform for the Energy Transition, will unlock new opportunities for growth in an increasingly dynamic and interconnected world.
